Post-Concert Feels
8 November 2015
Hi all! It has been exactly one week since my performance! Okay, not mine, this makes it sound as though I am the soloist haha! I performed last week under SPSE, Singapore Polytechnic String Ensemble. My very first performance in an ensemble. It felt so good, no words could explain how much I love it and how much I missed the performing arts sector. Oh, I think I forgot to mention it in my bio that I used to be a Chinese Dancer. HAHA well, I wasn't really that great at it... Hence, I didn't want to really make a big deal out of it haha, in face I was pretty much one of the worse dancers you could find there xD Dancing hasn't really been my thing only until recently but, I was never an artistic person so I kinda am horrible at all these artsy fuzzy stuffs. I am yeah kinda more of the atheletic sporty type. I mean I am in Volleyball and was from Track and Field... I really love sports... I really love arts too :'( Anyway, lets get into topic.
We played many pieces, here are the pieces in concert order:
1. Promenade (From Pictures at an Exhibition) by Modest Mussorgsky
2. Serenade (From Pictures at an Exhibition) by Modest Mussorgsky
3. Alla Turca (Turkish March) by Mozart
4. Vocalise by Rachmaninoff
5. Double Cello Concerto by Antonio Vivaldi
6. Game of Thrones Theme (Played by Alumni)
7. Can You Feel The Love Tonight (played by Alumni)
8. Special Item (旱天雷)
INTERMISSION
9. The Four Seasons: Summer, Presto by Antonio Vivaldi (HARDEST PIECE THAT WE PLAYED THAT NIGHT)
10. The Prayer (From Quest for Camelot)
11. Pizzicati by Leo Delibes
12. Farandole
13. The Battle For Narnia (From Narnia, The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe theme)
14. Sabre Dance
15.Jurassic Park Theme
ENCORE PIECE: Carmen Suite No.1 by Les Toreadors (Most fun song)
Oh my gosh, I never knew we played so many pieces... I feel so proud of myself haha, for your information, all these pieces aren't as easy as you think. Yah, I in violin 2 but we are very important and play a vital role and our parts have their own challenges as well. Either ways, I enjoyed myself to the fullest. Waking up super early on the concert day itself for rehearsals and helping people put make-up as well as for myself. Wow, I think my make-up skills improved though it still can be further improved. Just hope that my complexion gets better too... HAHA I NEED FACIAL, YES I KNOW I HAVE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR LIKE WHAT, 1000 TIMES?! (those who know me knows that i've said this too many times and never been to facial before YET) Expensive ah, plus I am so afraid it gets worse, like what happens if my skin is allergic to their products?!
AHEM, sorry I got carried away, now moving on... PHOTOS TIME!!
